“It all starts with a well prepared Canvas”
Preparing your skin the right way assures your session will be pain free, your skin will accept and retain pigment better, and makes healing a breeze.
• Stop using all retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin, Differin etc), These products cause bleeding, sensitivity and poor pigment retention.
• Stop using Brow Growth Serums – they increase bleeding and diffuse the pigment.
• Do NOT use Steroids (oral, injection or topical) within 4 weeks of your session.
• Stop using over the counter retinol products, acne treatments, BHA/AHA serums, Hyaluronic Acid (check all your makeup, skincare and SPF products. Sometimes called “HA” or “sodium Hyaluronate”) near the brow area. These products interfere with pigment implantation.
• Avoid sunbathing, burning or tanning on your face. Do not arrive with sunburned, freshly tanned or peeling skin near the brow area.
• If you have a history of anemia, take steps for optimal blood iron.
• Begin applying a thin layer of aquaphor over your brows at night before bed.
• No botox or filler near the brow area
• Do not use blood thinners such as NSAIDS (Naproxin, ASPRIN, ibuprofen) If prescribed, ask your doctor.
• Avoid vitamins and green juicing
• Stop using Saunas and steam rooms
• Drink plenty of water and hydrating foods
• Avoid alcohol
• Avoid excessive caffeine
• Be well hydrated—drink water
• Avoid SPF, skin care and makeup to the brow area.
• Get a full nights sleep and reduce stress where possible. Please don’t be out partying the night before your appointment. The skin heals best when your body is rested.
